Practical arrangements for the volunteer

Lodging:  food / accommodation:

The volunteer will live in an apartment, where he or she will have to share the room with the other volunteer of the same gender. The volunteer will have 93Ls (132 €) food money per month, paid in cash in the beginning of each week 21Ls.

Working hours:

The volunteer will work six hours each day five working days of the week. Each week he will have two free days, usually the weekend. If the volunteer is asked to work during the weekend, he will get a free weekday in return for each weekend-day he has worked. National holidays are free.

Pocket money:

The volunteer will have 14, 93 Ls pocket money per week, paid in cash in the beginning of each week (85 € per month).

Local transport:

Any transport in connection with the project will be covered by the host organization. If the volunteer has to travel to a seminar, to his work place or to his language course, those costs will be refunded on showing the transport tickets.

Language support:

The volunteer will have Latvian lesson two-three times a week in regular work day. Lessons last 45 minutes.

Risk prevention, protection and safety:
We will prevent risks and crises by:
- integration activities (overcoming language barriers, ice breaking games)
- organizing individual meetings with the volunteers,
- meetings with educationalist and psychologist, if it will be necessary,
- contact with a doctor in the volunteer's country, if it will be necessary,
- we will inform the volunteer about his/ her rights, regulations in our organization, consequences of unacceptable behaviour,
- the volunteer will have the opportunity to stay in contact with his family/ sending organization via e-mail or telephone ,
- release negative emotions through meetings, talks and excursions
